Delete your ShoulderCrew account
Last updated Oct 28, 2026. This page explains how to delete your ShoulderCrew account (drivers and helpers), what we delete, and what we keep. Questions: freedomrcp@gmail.com.
How to delete your account
Option 1: in the app or on shouldercrew.com (fastest)
- Open the ShoulderCrew app, or go to shouldercrew.com, and sign in.
- Go to Account (your profile).
- Scroll to Delete my account, tap it and confirm by typing DELETE.
Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone. You will be signed out.
Option 2: by email
If you can't sign in, email freedomrcp@gmail.com from the email address on your account with the subject "Delete my ShoulderCrew account". We may ask you to confirm it is you, and we will complete the deletion within 30 days.
You can't delete your account while you have an active job (requested, accepted, on the way or in progress) or an active Crew membership. Finish or cancel the job, or cancel the membership first, then delete your account.
What gets deleted
- Your name, phone number, city, zip code, profile photo and sign-in details (email and password).
- Your saved vehicles, trusted contacts and blocked-user list.
- Your location data: any live helper location, roadside beacons and community road reports you posted.
- Helper profile data: service listings, tow rates, and towing documents and insurance details you uploaded.
- The text of the messages you sent and the comments you left in ratings (the messages stay in the other person's job history as "[message deleted]").
- For job requests you made: the pickup address, notes and start PIN.
- Your login is disabled permanently and any active sessions are ended.
If we have no records we're legally required to keep for your account, your whole account is removed.
What we keep, and why
Some records are required by tax, accounting, payment-network and safety rules, so we keep them even after deletion. They are no longer linked to your name, email, phone or address. They are tied only to an anonymous "Deleted user" account.
| Kept | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Payment and payout records (job totals, fees, tips, refunds, payout amounts and dates, Stripe reference IDs) | Tax, accounting and payment-processing law, and dispute and refund handling | Generally up to 7 years |
| Helper onboarding-fee and background-check outcome (pass/fail status and dates only) | Legal compliance, including consumer-reporting rules. The background-check provider keeps its own records under its own policy. | As required by law |
| Safety and incident reports involving a job | Protecting other users and legal claims | As long as needed for safety and legal reasons |
| A record that your account was deleted (only a one-way hash, no personal details) | Proof we honored your request | Indefinitely |
Our payment processor (Stripe) and background-check provider keep their own records under their own privacy policies. Deleted data may remain in encrypted backups until they roll off on their normal schedule, and we do not restore it.
After you delete
- You can sign up again later with the same email, as a brand-new account. Past jobs, ratings and founding-member status are not restored.
- We do not sell personal information. See our Privacy Policy.
